Dear members and colleagues,
This is the first time I write to you after been elected President of the O&G Society. I first joined the Society in 1980 and became actively involved in the Council of the Society since 1989. During these years I enjoyed a lot when I joined the functions of the Society: both academic and social alike. Since the formation of the Hong Kong College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, some colleagues started to doubt the continual functioning of the OGSHK. To me I think the OGSHK still has a significant role to play amongst the O&G community of Hong Kong. The reasons are as follows:

If you have any problems relating to the Society, please kindly contact one of the above Council Members or the Hon Secretary directly (please note the new correspondence address printed below). Enclosed please find the pamphlet and abstract form of the XVII Asian Oceanic Federation of O&G Congress to be held in Singapore in July 2000. The FIGO meeting will be held in September 2000 in Washington DC. The FIGO meeting this year is especially important for us as Hong Kong is bidding to host the 2006 FIGO meeting in Hong Kong. Hope all of our members can attend one or both meetings. The FIGO preparatory committee will send a brochure to all our members at a later date.
The OGSHK will organize monthly health talks to public in January to July 2000 on common O&G topics, any member interested please contact the Hon Secretary.
